A Shrine to the Old Internet

Beloved, gone, but never forgotten.

Sometimes I wish I could Nepscape Navigate my way back to the neighborhoods that raised me...I never actually had my own Geocities, but if I had, back then my home neighborhood would have been either EnchantedForest/Meadow or Tokyo/Teahouse. Both would still suit me fine, but nowadays, I'd also happily make my home in SunsetStrip/Disco.

I still browse the ruins of Geocities through Restorativland and Archive.org. From those ruins comes this colletction of my favourite graphics. Some I remember vividly, some are new to me, but either way, I'm very grateful to Neocities for giving me a place to keep and present them.

Coming to you live from my rusty Photobucket. Long, long ago, in the olde times of Livejournal, I would make a version of the train below and post it for my friends' birthdays. These were the standard issue gifs, but I'd fill it in with acompanying gifs of whatever their current fixation was. Booster was essentail to the whole thing, btw.
